ABSTRACT:
Cough is one of the most common health complaints affecting people of all age groups in Kolkata. The city's high population density, seasonal weather changes, air pollution, dust exposure, and recurrent respiratory infections contribute significantly to the occurrence of both acute and chronic cough. Cough may arise due to viral infections, allergies, asthma, bronchitis, environmental irritants, or underlying respiratory disorders. In a metropolitan city like Kolkata, where climatic variations and urban pollution are common, respiratory symptoms often become a frequent cause of medical consultation.
Homeopathy has emerged as an alternative therapeutic approach for managing cough and related respiratory conditions. Homeopathic treatment focuses on individualized care, considering not only the physical symptoms but also the patient's overall constitution, lifestyle, and susceptibility to disease. Homeopathic practitioners aim to stimulate the body's natural healing mechanisms through carefully selected remedies based on symptom similarity.

The increasing interest in homeopathy among Kolkata residents can be attributed to its holistic approach, perceived safety profile, and widespread availability of qualified homeopathic practitioners throughout the city.
